Where the Story Began
Two young hoteliers, not yet forty, had already spent over fifteen years shaping and managing successful hotels in the heart of Florence. But Fiume 20 was different.
They stumbled upon a modest ground-floor building just steps from Santa Maria Novella and a five-minute walk from the cathedral — a hidden corner of the city that whispered potential. It wasn’t a hotel. The walls were tired, the floors worn, and the structure needed a full transformation. Yet they saw more than decay. They saw a future, a vision of a boutique hotel where elegance and intimacy would outweigh pomp and spectacle.
Fiume 20 became a labour of love. The renovation was extensive: every wall was restored, ceilings reimagined, and even the smallest details meticulously crafted. Nothing was left to chance. But the goal was never to dazzle with luxury for luxury’s sake. Instead, the ambition was subtler — to create elegance in simplicity, a genuine reflection of Florentine tradition, where the luxury is in comfort, space, and honesty, not in ostentation.
